Become a member of the Master Gardener Foundation of Thurston County (MGFTC) for a yearly membership fee of $10. We are now accepting applications for 2023.

Membership is open to anyone who is committed to the Foundation’s goals — supporting an environmentally healthy community by raising funds and awareness of the WSU Master Gardener and Thurston County Master Recycler Composter Programs.

Join our community to meet like-minded people interested in gardening, recycling and composting.

  • Learn from engaging guest speakers at our membership meetings.
  • Help out at our Plant Sale Nursery.
  • Join the Handicraft Committee and use your skills to create knitted hats, scarves, potholders, and all sorts of creative things for us to sell at fundraisers.
  • Join us for member trips to area gardens, nurseries, or other places of interest.

The Foundation is the major contributor, supporter and sustainer of three Thurston County Demonstration Gardens – one at the Olympia Farmers’ Market; one at Yauger Park on Olympia’s Westside, and one at the Thurston County Solid Waste Transfer Station. We also help fund several clinics that provide gardening information to the public in Thurston County.
